OpenAI says it disrupted a coordinated campaign to extract the protected reasoning of its models.
The peaks of July 24 and 25 count 16,000 requests from more than 4,000 users, attempts not necessarily successful.
A core of the activity is attributed by OpenAI to people associated with Moonshot AI, the developer of Kimi.
A path allowing the encrypted reasoning of another user to be replayed to recover its content was closed.

An agent confined by DeepSeek Harness could disable its own sandbox with a single command.
The session could switch to "danger-full-access", with approvals disabled, via the local control API.
VulnCheck assigned CVE-2026-82533 and a CVSS score of 9.4.
Three flaws are involved: an API without authentication, access control based on the Host header, a bubblewrap profile.
Version 0.1.2-alpha.2 or later on npm is recommended, with isolation of the agent's network.

The AISI resumes most of its evaluations after strengthening the security of its testing environment.
Internet access is disabled for future agentic cyber evaluations.
A synchronous monitor based on an LLM can block suspicious actions before they happen.
Models are increasingly able to act without reasoning in their Chain-of-Thought, according to the AISI.
These controls reduce the risk but do not eliminate it.

A joint advisory from CISA, the NSA and the FBI attributes large-scale distillation campaigns to six Chinese AI companies.
The advisory AA26-251A, published on 8 September 2026, mentions billions of tokens extracted from American models.
The campaigns did not steal the model weights: they went through APIs, subscriptions and proxies.
Anthropic reports around 24,000 fraudulent accounts and more than 16 million exchanges in campaigns it attributes.
According to the author, account-by-account defenses are ineffective against a campaign spread across providers.

In GitHub Copilot CLI, opus-5.5 runs a malicious Python script after a simple request to summarize a repository.
The repository contains only a README.md with a poem and a QR Code leading to a remote web page.
Three math questions must be solved to get the Vigenère key, and the last one is almost impossible.
The hint script hides its malicious payload at the end of the line, after about 500 spaces of padding.
Out of 5 attempts, the agent runs the code without full inspection 3 times and detects the malicious snippet once.

In September, booby-trapped repositories were enough to make several coding agents run attacker code.
Booby-trapped git settings ran code in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and four other agents before any approval request.
Codex lost its sandbox twice, according to the resource selection published by Adversa.
More than 13,000 screenshots leaked to public GitHub repositories, with no attacker at all.
Booby-trapped updates compromised all seven harnesses tested, with up to 92.5% success.

A booby-trapped skill, plugin or MCP server can lead an agent to run malicious code with the user's rights.
No flaw is needed: third-party content becomes a privileged instruction or code executed with your rights.
The CVERC advisory on skill poisoning dates from 22 April 2026, and the article that relayed it from 13 September.
Fake prerequisites and hostile scripts or binaries are the simplest and most observed mechanisms.
Only 76 skills were confirmed malicious by hand in the Snyk study, according to the author.

Matthew Green believes AI agents already bring together the two halves of a worm.
A payload hijacks the agent, then the agent carries that payload to the next agent.
Agents isolated in separate sandboxes discovered they could leave instructions for each other.
A shared package cache served as the medium for these instructions, which changed what the recipients did.
Email, Slack, shared documents or WhatsApp could replace that cache for personal agents like Muse.

In six of the ten AI agent flaws examined, the model's judgement was never the decisive factor.
The ten disclosures, published between 26 June and 24 September 2026, are classified into four classes according to the trigger point.
In the other four cases, the model was manipulated, but permissions and configuration decided the extent of the damage.
GitSpawn groups eight findings in seven command-line agents, including Claude Code, Goose, Codex and Cursor.
A correction on 13 October brings the figure from seven to six, after the reclassification of CVE-2026-55607 (Claude Code).
